Wildlife Education with Breanna

Join Breanna Rossiter, Naturalist with the Ashtabula County Metroparks, for an engaging look at the wildlife that calls Ashtabula County and Ohio home!

There will be no live animals at this program, but Briana will bring a variety of fascinating biofacts, such as antlers, skull replicas, tracks, and real or faux fur. We’ll take a closer look at 2–3 local animals, which may include coyotes, eastern cottontails, Virginia opossums, American beavers, striped skunks, snapping turtles, little brown bats, turkey vultures, and white-tailed deer.

Learn about the physical characteristics of these animals, their roles in the ecosystem, their history in Ohio, interactions with humans, and even some of the folklore surrounding them. We’ll also discuss wildlife you may encounter in your own backyard, how to safely interact with wildlife, and what to do if you encounter an injured animal.

Come discover the wild side of Ashtabula County and gain a better understanding of the animals living right around us!
